The Wisconsin Beef Council and Wisconsin Cattlemen’s Association are now accepting applications for the second Wisconsin Beef Leadership Institute. Interested participants can apply through February 15, 2025.
This year-long program will shape local advocates for the beef industry. Participants will complete educational sessions to improve their communication skills and expand their industry knowledge. Graduates will help extend the impact of both organizations by sharing their expertise with communities.
The Wisconsin Beef Council, a producer-led nonprofit funded by the $1.00 per head Beef Checkoff, focuses on educating about the beef industry. Through the program, participants will attend seminars on topics like storytelling, working with media, and identifying personal strengths.
The Wisconsin Cattlemen’s Association provides a legislative voice for Wisconsin’s beef producers. Participants will learn to engage with local legislators and discuss key issues affecting the state’s cattle industry. The association works with partners to support cattlemen through leadership and education.
The program features quarterly sessions hosted by each organization. These workshops will prepare participants to educate others, respond to media requests, and advocate for the cattle industry. Graduates will join an esteemed alumni network, assisting with initiatives like the Masters of Beef Advocacy program.
There is a $100 participation fee, while hotels, meals, and program costs are covered. The application is available online at beeftips.com.
