How Do Your Prices Compare?

The average price Wisconsin farmers got for corn in September was $3.70 per bushel, according to the latest agricultural prices report from USDA. This was 3 cents below the August price and $1.37 below September 2023.

The report from the National Agricultural Statistics Service says Wisconsin soybean farmers got $10.20 per bushel in September. That’s 30 cents below the August price and $3.50 below the September 2023 price.

The September average oat price per bushel, at $3.11, was 6 cents below August and 85 cents below September 2023.

All hay prices in Wisconsin averaged $123 per ton in September. This was $5 below the August price but $10 above the September 2023 price. The September 2024 alfalfa hay price, at $132, was $7 below the previous month and $42 below September 2023. The average price received for other hay during September was $97 per ton. This was unchanged from the August price but $16 below September last year.

The Wisconsin all milk price for September 2024 was $25.50 per hundredweight (cwt). This was $2.50 above last month’s price and $5.40 above last September’s price. The U.S. all milk price for September was $25.50 per cwt, the same as Wisconsin’s price but $1.90 higher than last month’s U.S. price.
