Hay Prices Up From 2020

All hay prices in Wisconsin averaged $156 per ton in August, according to the latest USDA ag prices report. This was $3 above the July price and $5 above the August 2020 price.

The August 2021 alfalfa hay price, at $172, was unchanged from the previous month but $8 above August 2020. The average price received for other hay during August was $113 per ton. This was $5 above the July price and $1 above August last year.

The average price received by Wisconsin farmers for corn in August was $6.17 per bushel. This was 13 cents above the July price and $3.15 above last year.

The August average price received by farmers for soybeans, at $14 per bushel, was 20 cents below the July price but $5.43 above the August 2020 price.

The August average oat price per bushel, at $3.40, was 25 cents above July and 90 cents above last year.

The average price for milk was $17.40 per cwt, 30 cents below the July price and $2 below August 2020.
