Livestock producers and meat processors of all sizes are invited to attend the second annual Wisconsin Meat Industry Coalition Conference. The conference is set for November 1-3 at the Chula Vista Resort in Wisconsin Dells. The conference was established to explore common interests among the various sectors of meat animal industries, develop a more unified industry voice, as well as identify collaborative opportunities with high impact.
The keynote speaker for the conference is Dennis Vignieri of Birchwood Foods. Dennis will be speaking on the topic of “The Pursuit of Change: The Kenosha Beef/Birchwood Story.” Attendees will also hear from industry leaders on the latest consumer trends and industry issues, workforce talent development initiatives, as well as funding, grants, and other approaches to growing businesses in Wisconsin. There will also be ample opportunities for networking during the conference.
The Wisconsin Meat Industry Hall of Fame Induction will be held on the evening of November 2 at the conference. This year’s honorees are Bob Hanson of HansonTech LLC, and Duane (Dewey) Wachholz, a professor emeritus from the University of Wisconsin-River Falls. The conference also includes a presentation of meat industry scholarships and awards.
