Future Pork Leaders: NPPC Opens 2025 Scholarship Applications

The National Pork Producers Council (NPPC) is now accepting applications for the 2025 Lois Britt Memorial Pork Industry Scholarship. Each year, ten $2,500 scholarships are awarded to college students pursuing careers in the pork industry. The scholarships are sponsored by CME Group and the National Pork Industry Foundation.

“The strength of America’s pork industry depends on its future leaders,” said Lori Stevermer, NPPC president. “The Lois Britt Memorial Pork Industry Scholarship plays a vital role in inspiring and empowering students to pursue pork industry careers, ensuring we continue moving forward with strong, informed leadership.”

Undergraduate students enrolled in two-year swine programs or four-year agriculture colleges are eligible to apply. Applicants are judged based on essays that discuss current or future issues facing the pork industry and propose solutions. Winners will be announced in late January. They will be recognized at the National Pork Industry Forum in Orlando, Florida, March 12-14, 2025.

This year’s application deadline is December 13, 2024. Full eligibility details and application requirements are available here.
