There’s still hope that the Dane County Farmers Market will return to the Capitol Square soon.
Jamie Bugel, Dane County Farmers’ Market Co-Manager, says the current arrangement using the Alliant Energy Center may change. Dane County will dictate if the farmers market can return to the Capitol Square, and an announcement is expected soon. Despite being at a different site, Bugel says walk up business has been good. “Definitely more customers at the walk-up market this year than we saw last year.”
A food pick-up option has also helped expand their reach. Bugel and her team thought of the hybrid model last year. Either way you attend, it’s a great way to support local producers.
Bugel says, “Farmers markets are a one stop shop where you can go and support many of the local producers all at once.” For all updates and more information check out their Dane County Farmers’ Market Website.
