The Wisconsin Farm Bureau Federation has their Annual Meeting every year in December. This year will be their 104th Annual Meeting December 1-4 in Wisconsin Dells. This is an opportunity for Farm Bureau members from all across the state to network and vote on policy that shapes the organization.
At the same time, the Young Farmers and Agriculturalists also have their Annual Conference. They too have the opportunity to network and participate in various competitions. Wendy Volkert, Senior Director of Member Relations for Wisconsin Farm Bureau, always looks forward to the yearly gathering.
“Most of our staff would agree, seeing our members all together in one place is probably our favorite part and the most fun,” shared Volkert. “We talk a lot about the Farm Bureau family and so when we do get together, it truly is like a big family reunion.”
Friday kicks off the Young Farmer and Agriculturalists Conference. Farm Bureau members from the ages of 18-35 are invited to network with their peers. Just those members are able to participate in contests and workshops geared towards their age demographic. The Conference lasts through Sunday morning.
The Annual Meeting is for members of all ages and begins Saturday afternoon. Policy is the main focus as delegates gather Monday for the Resolution Session. Here they vote on the policies they would like to see Farm Bureau’s Government Relations team advocate for. They also have opportunities to participate in educational workshops.
Volkert expects at least 1,000 Farm Bureau members to attend over the course of the 4 day Conference/Annual Meeting.
