The following is an op-ed written by Wisconsin Farm Bureau President Brad Olson.
Recently, Wisconsin Farm Bureau achieved a historic milestone, surpassing 50,000 members for the first time in 30 years. With over 51,000 members strong, the organization grew by 2,783 members this year alone. Even more remarkable, all 61 county Farm Bureaus experienced membership growth.
This kind of success doesn’t happen by chance. Members, volunteers, and supporters play a critical role in these achievements. A Farm Bureau membership is an investment in agriculture’s future. Members not only amplify Wisconsin agriculture’s largest voice but also invest in their own farms and livelihoods.
Through grassroots efforts, Farm Bureau empowers Wisconsin’s agricultural community to preserve and advance the industry. With growing membership, the organization offers even more programs, including leadership development, legislative advocacy, and money-saving benefits. Each member enhances Farm Bureau’s ability to support agriculture and rural communities through impactful policy advocacy.
This milestone would not be possible without the passion and commitment of Farm Bureau’s members. They form the backbone of the organization, driving its progress. Membership volunteers, like Trayton Greenfield of Fond du Lac County, exemplify the personal outreach fueling record growth. Their dedication statewide ensures Farm Bureau’s continued success.
As Wisconsin Farm Bureau celebrates surpassing 51,000 members, the focus shifts to the future. With a stronger voice and deeper community roots, the organization is poised to lead Wisconsin agriculture to new heights.
For first-time members, Farm Bureau encourages involvement through local leadership, policy development, or participation in Wisconsin Farm Bureau Foundation programs. Member engagement ensures Farm Bureau remains a trusted voice for Wisconsin agriculture.
