Extension to Host Handling & Medicine in Cattle Workshop

The training of farm personnel has positive impacts on animal welfare and performance, thus increasing the overall farm profitability. To support beef and dairy farms and their employees, the UW-Extension Dairy program has developed the “Handling and Administration of Vaccine and Medicine in Cattle” workshop.

This program will help farm personnel to understand the importance of vaccines and medicines, the proper use and handling, and the consequences of the improper administration and manipulation of animal health products. Also, they will be given a hands-on demonstration.

The workshop training features Dr. Adrian Barragan, Associate Research Professor-Extension Veterinarian Penn State University Extension, and Flavio Silvestre, Dairy Tech Services at Zoetis Inc.

The event will take place at the Town Hall at Theresa Town (N8679 County Road P. Theresa WI,
53091) on the dates below:

June 27th, 2024, 9:00 am – 3:00 pm – English session
June 28th, 2024, 9:00 am – 3:00 pm – Spanish session
