Are you looking for a fun new way to explore delicious culinary spots, timeless treasures, and historic features? Look no further than the Cheese Passport to Green County. A mobile scavenger hunt with 35 stops that run all over Green County Wisconsin.

This scavenger hunt helps promote and engage people with Green County Tourism. These stops allow you to step into “Swiss-consin” a place filled with true Swiss heritage that runs deep in the area. And it is a free mobile passport that you can access on your phone.

“You visit cheesy places, you taste cheesy things, and you win cheesy swag and prizes.” says Noreen Rueckert. She is Tourism Director for Green County Tourism and has helped launch this idea. “Well we like to say in Green County Eat. Drink. And Yodel. And this kind of encompasses all of those things.”

At every location there are codes to mark off the place you visited. You can also win points to win prizes. Prizes include cheese socks, pins, Dairy Farmers of Wisconsin swag, a grand prize, and more.

“We’re hoping to get more people into Green County to discover what we have to offer here.” Rueckert tells us. Some of those things to discover are the numerous cheese stores or factories. One being the Alp and Dell cheese store in Monroe, WI.

Green County being called “Swiss-consin”, it is something they take great pride in. “There are a lot of genuine authentic Swiss experiences you can get in Green County”. Rueckert explains. “It’s really the only place where there’s that extra layer of Swiss heritage that sets us apart.”

The Cheese Passport to Green County runs until August 4th 2024. With prizes being shipped out as points are earned on the passport.
