Wisconsin egg production during May was 204 million eggs, down 7 percent from the previous May, according to the latest Chickens and Eggs report from the USDA’s National Agricultural Statistics Service.
The average number of all layers on hand during May 2024 was 7.83 million, down 6 percent from last year. Eggs per 100 layers for May was 2,609, down 1 percent from a year ago.
Meanwhile, U.S. egg production is down 2 percent from last year totaling 9.10 billion during May.
The average number of layers during May totaled 372 million, down 3 percent
from last year. May egg production per 100 layers was 2,450 eggs, up 1 percent from the year before. Total layers in the U.S. on June 1, totaled 371 million, down 3 percent from last year.
