The average price Wisconsin farmers got for corn in December was $4.50 per bushel, according to the latest National Agricultural Statistics Service report. This was 10 cents above the November price but $1.59 below December 2022.
Wisconsin farmers got $13 per bushel on average for soybeans in December. That was 20 cents above
the November price but $1.20 below the December 2022 price.
The December average oat price per bushel, at $3.26, was 8 cents below November and $2.57 below December 2022.
All hay prices in Wisconsin averaged $179 per ton in December. This was $5 below the November price
but $20 above the December 2022 price. The December 2023 alfalfa hay price, at $187, was $9 below
the previous month but $19 above December 2022. The average price received for other hay during December was $148 per ton. This was $8 above the November price and $33 above December last year.
The Wisconsin all-milk price for December 2023 was $19 per hundredweight (cwt). This was 80 cents below last month’s price and $4.70 below last December’s price. The U.S. all-milk price for December was $20.60 per cwt, $1.60 higher than Wisconsin’s price but $1.10 lower than last month’s U.S. price.
