DBIA Seeks Grant Recipients To Partner With Students

The Dairy Business Innovation Alliance mentors have been instrumental in helping DBIA businesses grow and increase their resiliency. DBIA is looking for new companies to join the mentors classroom consulting program for the Spring 2026 semester.

DBIA is a partnership between the Center for Dairy Research and the Wisconsin Cheese Makers Association that develops and administers programs providing technical assistance as well as grants to dairy farms and businesses in Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, Ohio, South Dakota, and Wisconsin.

Mentors have taken on working with UW-Madison students in the Department of Agricultural & Applied Economics through the CALS Classroom Consulting opportunity.

Since 2024, multiple DBIA companies have worked with mentors and students to develop new social media marketing plans, evaluate new retail locations, and update logistical plans. This has allowed university students to learn more about the dairy industry and solve real world problems while offering free consulting to dairy businesses.
