Dairy Signal Speakers Announced

Professional Dairy Producers® (PDPW), announces the line-up of speakers for week 70 of The Dairy Signal™. Episodes this week will include an update on the Wisconsin administrative rule focused on groundwater, tips on working with local emergency responders and financial strategies for young dairy producers. 

Christopher Clayton, Agricultural Runoff Section Chief, Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources, will provide an update on ch. NR 151, and how this administrative rule is part of the effort to address groundwater issues and protect drinking water and public health across Wisconsin. Chief Gerald Minor, Pittsville Fire Department, and Ronald Naab, Allenton Fire Department Assistant Training Officer, will discuss the need for farm rescue plans in partnership with local emergency responders.

Gary Sipiorski, independent business and financial consultant and Dr. Kevin Bernhardt, Professor of Agribusiness at UW-Platteville School of Agriculture and UW-Extension Farm Management Specialist, will join The Dairy Signal with financial tips for those just getting started in the dairy industry.

Developed by fellow dairy farmers from the PDPW Board of Directors, The Dairy Signal is a weekly series of free educational episodes offering insights and resources for fellow dairy farmers and other food system professionals throughout the value chain. The episodes air live from 12:00-1:00 PM CT each Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday; recorded sessions are available later in the day. All Dairy Signal episodes are available to the public at no cost, with current and past episodes accessible through www.pdpw.org.
