Dairy Fundamentals for Professionals

The Center for Dairy Research (CDR) will offer an in-depth course on dairy ingredient manufacturing and applications. This introductory course is tailored for product developers and food industry professionals interested in dairy processing.

Participants will learn about various dairy ingredients, including whey, permeate, milk protein, whey protein, and lactose. Through comprehensive sessions, they will explore the many uses of these ingredients across the food, pet, cosmetic, and pharmaceutical industries.

Course highlights include a tour of CDR’s state-of-the-art pilot plant, offering hands-on experience. Each session provides valuable insights into the functional and nutritional properties of dairy ingredients. Practical applications will also cover foods, sauces, pastries, and beverages, equipping participants with actionable knowledge.

Course Options

  • Self-Study (Online): December 11, 2024, to March 11, 2025 (Registration closes November 26, 2024)
  • In-Person Course: Fall 2025, with an immersive experience on-site

All participants in the in-person course will receive printed completion certificates on the final day. Online course participants will receive an electronic certificate within one month after course completion.
