Wisconsin corn production is forecast at 532 million bushels according to the latest USDA, NASS Crop Production report. Based on conditions as of November 1, yields are expected to average 181.0 bushels per acre, down 1.0 bushel per acre from the October 1 forecast but up 5.0 bushels per acre from last year. Corn planted acreage is estimated at 3.75 million acres, with an estimated 2.94 million acres to be harvested for grain.
Soybean production is forecast at 104 million bushels. The yield is forecast at 49.0 bushels per acre, down 4.0 bushels from the October forecast and down 2.0 bushels from 2023. Soybean planted acreage is estimated at 2.15 million acres with 2.12 million acres to be harvested.
Potato production in Wisconsin is forecast at 25.1 million cwt, down 12 percent from 2023. Yield is forecast at 380 cwt per acre, with an expected 66,000 acres to be harvested.
