Cows On The Concourse Calls For Volunteers

Cows on the Concourse will return to Madison’s Capitol Square on June 7, where organizers and attendees can celebrate Wisconsin dairy with this year’s theme, “Dairy Gone Digital!”

This free, family-friendly event kicks off National Dairy Month celebrations in Dane County. You can be a part of the action by volunteering with the Dane County Dairy Promotion Committee.

Happening just off the Capitol Square, events will run from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Those attending can interact with local dairy cows and talk with the cow experts, enjoy Wisconsin dairy products such as grilled cheese sandwiches, and participate in a dairy scavenger hunt and other educational events.

Local royalty, such as Alice in Dairyland and the Wisconsin Fairest of the Fairs, will also be present throughout the event.

“Cows on the Concourse is a unique dairy promotion event as we bring the event where the consumer is,” says event co-chair Megan Abeyta. “Having this event in close proximity to the Dane County Farmers Market exposes thousands of people to Wisconsin’s robust dairy industry and gives attendees the opportunity to learn about America’s Dairyland directly from the experts.”

Held the first Saturday in June, Cows on the Concourse offers attendees a chance to learn about their dairy community and serves as one of the Dane County Dairy Promotion Committee’s premier, annual events.

Cows on the Concourse is open to the public as a free and family-friendly event where attendees can meet local dairy cows, enjoy Wisconsin dairy products, and learn more about why Wisconsin is America’s Dairyland.
