The USDA’s National Agricultural Statistics Service has released its Agricultural Prices report — check it out below.

The average price received by Wisconsin farmers for corn during February was $5.84 per bushel. This was 45 cents above the January price and $1.10 above February last year. And for comparison — on the close March 31 from Chicago, cash corn was $7.48 and three-quarters.

The February 2022 average price received by farmers for soybeans, at $14.70 per bushel, was $2.20 above the January price and $1.70 above the February 2021 price. On the close March 31, cash beans were $16.18 and a quarter.

The February average oat price per bushel, at $6.22, was 84 cents above January and $3.23 above February last year.

And the average price for milk was $24 per hundredweight or roughly $2.07 per gallon. That $24 per hundredweight is 60 cents above the January price and $6.80 above February last year.

Hay is the only ag price that fell.

All hay prices in Wisconsin averaged $153 per ton in February. This was $2 below the January price and $14 below the February 2021 price. The February 2022 alfalfa hay price, at $160, was unchanged from the previous month but $19 below February of last year. The average price received for other hay during February was $129 per ton — $5 below the January price but $11 above February last year.
