“Last year we were approached by a company to see if we wanted their broadband service,” says Daniels. “At that point we thought it would be a good idea because our current wireless connection was only running at 30 megabytes per second.”
One of those advancements is the use of cow monitoring technology—essentially “Fitbits for cows.” These digital trackers collect real-time data on cow movement, health, and behavior. Daniels says the insight these devices provide helps improve animal care, efficiency, and even milk production.
“So Mighty Grand Dairy needed a better connection because we are using technology to monitor the animals,” says Daniels. “Having this speedier connection has allowed us to save time and get faster, more up to date information on our animals.”
Beyond tech adoption, broadband has proven to be cost-effective for the farm. The data collected from smart equipment helps the team make more informed decisions, cut down on manual labor, and catch health issues early—saving time and money.
