Brat Fest To Serve More Than 100K Brats

The 41st annual Brat Fest is happening over Memorial Day Weekend in Madison. What you may not know is that Brat Fest started as a customer appreciation grill-out outside of Metcalfe’s Market at Hilldale. Fast forward to this weekend, organizers will welcome roughly 125,000 people to the grounds outside of the Alliant Energy Center.

With that many hungry mouths to feed, Brat Fest Board President Tim Metcalfe says it takes a lot of sausages, and a diversified menu. He expects to sell more than 30,000 ears of corn, 100,000 brats, and 15,000 hotdogs.

There’s more to do than eat while you’re there. Families can look forward to a carnival, kids zone, fireworks and music, just to name a few highlights. Festival goers should also know that their money is going to a good cause.

The festival requires 3,000 volunteers, each making $10 per hour. Metcalfe expects to raise roughly $100,000 that will be donated to about 100 different charities. See the benefiting organizations: https://bratfest.com/giving-back/benefiting-organizations/
