Beginning Farmer Event Scheduled In April

Marbleseed is hosting two days of learning and community building tailored to beginning farmers looking to grow their farm business. New Farmer U is at Market on River in Chippewa Falls on April 12-13.

Saturday

From 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., get a full day of farm financials training with Paul Dietmann, Senior Lending Officer at Compeer Financial, and Andrew Larson, Farm Program Manager at the Food Finance Institute. This workshop uses a comprehensive agribusiness curriculum. Each attendee will get to take home a brand-new copy of the book, Fearless Farm Finances.

Breakfast and lunch are provided. During the evening, participants are invited to join an optional group dinner outing.

Sunday

From 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., listen to guest speakers and trainers focused on helping farmers tell their farm story and improve their marketing tools. Topics include website development and how to build a thriving food and farm business. The conversation will also touch on farmer wellness, mental health, and legal resources. Tabling by the Wisconsin Farmers Union complete a full weekend of information on how to make your farm business a full success.

Breakfast and lunch are provided.

At 10:30 a.m. enjoy a mini break to support the farm vendors who host “Sunday Market on the River.” Participants can enjoy fresh coffee, browse food from the Market on the River sellers, and shop for locally made gifts at this unique pop-up!
