Beef In The Classroom Grant Apps Open

The Wisconsin Beef Council is excited to once again welcome you to apply for our Beef in the Classroom grant program. FALL semester grant applications are open and due by end of day on October 30, 2021! We will be offering grants for both semesters this school year. The SPRING semester grant application will be open in January 2022.

  • Only those classrooms which will be teaching in-person are eligible to receive grant funds. However, teachers providing lessons virtually are still encouraged to submit the application form in order to receive access to the entire Wisconsin Beef Council online library of educational resources and materials.
  • There will be 2 “rounds” of applications this year – one for the FALL semester and one for the SPRING.
  • Program funds may only be used to purchase beef (fresh, frozen or fully cooked).
  • Program funds are limited, so please submit your application as soon as possible.
  • More detailed program guidelines can be found here.

Interested in applying for a grant or receiving access to our online library of free teacher resources? Here’s how to proceed:

  1. Fill out the application form on our website as soon as possible, applications are assessed on a first-come, first-serve basis until program funds are all accounted for.
  2. Once your grant application is received and approved, you will receive confirmation from the Wisconsin Beef Council. FALL grant dollars must be spent during the 2021 FALL semester.
  3. After you have completed your in-class lesson and used the grant to purchase beef, you will need to fill out the evaluation form in order to be reimbursed. You will need to scan in your beef receipts and include in this form.
  4. After we receive your completed evaluation form and receipts, the Wisconsin Beef Council will reimburse you.

If you have any questions or concerns about the program or the beef teaching resources the Wisconsin Beef Council has available to you, please contact Angie Horkan, Wisconsin Beef Council Director of Marketing at 608-833-9941 or [email protected].
