Join women across the nation for the 24th annual Women’s Agricultural Leadership Conference (WALC) on April 13 at The Minnesota Landscape Arboretum. This year’s theme “Deep Roots, Strong Future” is focused on reminding women of all ages how far they’ve come and how bright their future continues to look.“Women now make up 36% of the total population of farmers,” said Doris Mold, conference co-founder. “And that’s not counting those involved in the industry through food production, soil management, education, lending, agricultural engineering, and so much more. This growth continues to fuel our team’s desire to provide opportunities like WALC. We have a lot to learn from one another.”Mold said attendees will leave feeling energized and equipped for the next steps in their career. The conference will be held in-person with safety precautions put in place. Speakers will be traveling in from Minnesota, Missouri, Washington, DC, Wisconsin and Canada.“Attendees will have the chance to learn from talented agricultural professionals, as well as network with fellow participants,” Mold said. “The connections and friendships made at WALC are one of the many benefits of having this year’s conference safely in-person again.”The 24th annual WALC will begin with a welcome from Nicole Koziolek, State Secretary, Minnesota FFA Association and hosted by Emily Krekelberg, Extension Educator, University of Minnesota Extension. Followed by an outstanding panel of agricultural leaders speaking on “Growing for the Future.” Panelists include: Sarah Dornink, Executive Director, MAELC; Heather Moore, Owner, Moore Family Farms and Moore Local; Corey Scott, Livestock Sustainability Services Leader, Truterra LLC, Land O’Lakes.8+ Breakout presentations include:
