The application for Crop Insurance Premium Rebates for Planting Cover Crops Enrollment is now available!
The program has $800,000, or 160,000 acres of coverage, to award on a first-come, first-served basis. A few things to note:
- If you received federal or state cost-share or incentives for planting cover crops in 2025, you are not eligible for the program.
- Applicants will need their FSA-578 and FSA maps to complete the enrollment form. Reported field cover crop acres should match acres on FSA-578. Contact your local FSA office to obtain these forms if needed. Applicants will not need to submit a copy of the form with the application, but may be asked to provide one to DATCP staff for verification purposes.
- There is no limit on the acres an applicant can apply for.
- Instructions are available via the program webpage.
Rebate applications will be accepted until program funding is exhausted, or until noon on January 30, 2026 at the latest.
