ALCIVIA Appoints New CEO

The ALCIVIA Board of Directors appointed Rodney Balvitsch as CEO and president, effective Jan. 6.

Over the past four months, FCCS and the ALCIVIA Board of Directors conducted a rigorous and comprehensive CEO search, evaluating more than 30 highly qualified candidates through multiple assessment stages. His appointment is the outcome of his talent, leadership abilities, and strategic vision.

“The search was anchored on the qualities ALCIVIA members expect: strong financial discipline, a member-first mindset, employee growth and retention, and the ability to forge partnerships that expand value opportunities for ALCIVIA’s members and the communities we serve,” says Jim Lange, Chairman of the ALCIVIA Board. “Rodney shares our vision for an innovative and profitable cooperative, and we are confident he will lead ALCIVIA with integrity, accountability, and a relentless focus on delivering value for our members.”

Balvitsch has extensive leadership and operational experience and more than 25 years in the cooperative system, including positions with CFS, AgQuest, Cannon Valley Cooperative, and Farm Credit Services. He joined ALCIVIA in 2020 as COO and has served as interim CEO since July 2025. With a proven track record of strategic leadership, team development, and a strong customer focus, he brings a servant approach to driving organizational excellence.

He and Jo, his wife of 29 years, reside in Mondovi with their son Cole, a student at Mondovi High School. Their daughter Cassy and her husband, Caleb, live nearby with their daughter Marlena. When he’s not serving the cooperative, Balvitsch enjoys cheering on local high school sports, spending time outdoors with his family, and staying actively involved in the community.

“We will lead with a member-first philosophy, strengthen our financial foundation, and invest in the assets, products, services, and partnerships that matter most,” Balvitsch says. “Equally important, we will cultivate a strong internal culture — grounded in collaboration, accountability, and trust — that empowers our people to do their best work. Together with our board of directors, we will position ALCIVIA for long-term success and make a positive impact for our members and communities we serve.”
