Two Dodge County youth and one adult advisor participated in the National 4-H Congress in Atlanta from November 29 to December 3.
The National 4-H Congress engages high school-aged members in leadership, citizenship, global awareness, and inclusion. Attendees participate in workshops, hear from renowned speakers, and network with 4-H members and advisors nationwide.
Representing Dodge County were Olivia Downey and Isabelle Justmann from River Oaks 4-H Club as Youth Delegates, and Marie Witzel as an adult advisor. They joined 35 Wisconsin 4-H’ers and four adult advisors among over 800 participants from across the country.
Wisconsin delegates attended workshops like Team Building, Speed Meeting, Habits of Highly Successful Teens, and Be the Change. These sessions focused on personal growth and leadership development.
Attendees gave back to Atlanta by completing community service projects. Activities included work at Piedmont Park Conservancy, Atlanta History Center, Books for Africa, Camp Fortson, and local schools.
Additionally, Olivia Downey represented Wisconsin as a Flag Bearer and speaker during the event’s flag ceremony.
