13 Scholarships Awarded

FarmFirst Dairy Cooperative is proud to award $14,250 in scholarships to 13 deserving individuals this year. Over the past nine years, FarmFirst has generously provided scholarships to 205 individuals, awarding more than $180,000.

“Our scholarship program is one of many ways FarmFirst gives back to our members and their families,” says Jeff Lyon, General Manager of FarmFirst Dairy Cooperative. “FarmFirst has always held a strong belief that its important to invest and support the education of future generations. Through education, the next generation will become not only the leaders in their industry, but their communities.”

“Education has always been a cornerstone piece in the foundation of our cooperative. Made possible by the commitment of members and board leaders throughout the years, this support proves to be invaluable to the students the program serves,” says Julie Sweney, Director of Communications & Marketing for FarmFirst Dairy Cooperative. “It is important to support these students and to encourage them to succeed. Their success also leads to our success.”

This year’s scholarship recipients include: Dorissa DeNure of Argyle, Wis.; Payton Erbsen of Lanark, Ill.; Matthew Fischer of Owen, Wis.; Lakin Getz of Savanna, Ill.; Bridgett Hoffman of Brantwood, Wis.; Melissa Mulderink of Dorchester, Wis.; Genevieve Phillips of Medford, Wis.; Ashlee Piskow of Granton, Wis.; Laney Schmitt of Milladore, Wis.; Joseph Schuh of Seymour, Wis.; Brock Strassburg of Bowler, Wis.; Gracie Walker of Wisconsin Dells, Wis.; and Randall Winch of Fennimore, Wis.

Scholarship recipients were selected based on leadership, scholastic achievement, extracurricular activities, essay responses and their future plans and career goals. All members of FarmFirst Dairy Cooperative and their children attending four-year universities, two-year technical programs or short courses and high school seniors planning for postsecondary education were eligible to apply for the scholarships.
